For as long as I remember I have been drawn to mystery and ambiguity, the abstract rather than the figurative, the problem rather than the solution and a theory over a fact. What interests me are questions and the need to keep questioning. To maintain the voice inside your head that keeps asking ‘What if ?’

So I have chosen to take to the road to live loose and walk this land of ours to fill my head with fresh ideas and new perspectives. The road has taken me to Art Galleries, Museums and the odd Cathedral, but the road I feel most compelled to take is one that leads to the Neolithic and the Bronze Age.

Many ancient places are the other side of an obstacle, a stock fence, a river or a mire. The walk to get there is important whatever stands at the end of the trail. There’s a delicious process of hope and anticipation on the way there and one of assessment and satisfaction on the way back.

This process represents the optimism and purpose that fuels me forward, to see for myself what’s at the end of the path. The shelves in my head are beginning to fill up, ‘So why not write it down ?‘ I thought.
