Suardal
Isle of Skye
Chambered Cairn
Dolerite Limestone
Folklore plays a role in the history of Neolithic and Bronze Age sites, adding mystery and superstition for those with imagination and the need for explanation. Suardal is no exception and is known locally as 'Hill of the Fairies'. This large cairn is sited in the shadow and grandeur of the Cuillin Mountains.

Stone Circle
Sandstone
Some of the more remote sites around Scotland are difficult to get to. This circle has no path to it and is only accessible by wading across a small but fast flowing stream. Among the heather is a fallen fourth stone. The colours on the surface of the stones seem to reflect the colours of the landscape and flora around them.
